Elsa Nekola is a writer from Wisconsin. Her fiction appears in Ploughshares, Witness, Nimrod, Passages North, The Cincinnati Review's miCRo series, and other journals. Her debut collection of short stories, Sustainable Living, won the 2020 Spokane Prize for Short Fiction and is now available from Willow Springs Books and University of Washington Press. Elsa is currently at work on a novel about three interconnected families in northern Wisconsin. In addition to her writing, Elsa is a second-generation ceramicist and plays drums in the band Red Pants.
